Thanks to the folks at Medicann I read an article they linked to via Twitter to Beth Barber's article called "So-called patients are hijacking medical marijuana"
Beth uses re-enforcement from a columnist from Times and then adds, "The unscrupulous have hijacked the Compassionate Use Act of 1996, California’s medical marijuana law.", Wow really?, I know a lot of people that have an "illness" that have prescriptions, but I wouldnt call them "Unscrupulous". Who is Beth to determine how serious of an illness is for it not to be treated by Medical Marijuana?
Ok I can understand so I'll read more of her article I thought to myself. She's basically exploiting Reefer Madness all over again by collecting false negatives on the internet and then adding her own thoughts on top of it, how funny is that?!. The same situation happened in San Francisco and northern California that is happening in San Diego, but guess what that was 10 years ago people there are just now catching up! Police raids were all over nothing, no guns found etc.., in fact what happened is more citizens/people stopped supporting the black market and became patients to support local co-ops selling marijuana. Beth should write something resourceful like about how rangers and Federal task forces are trying to stop "illegal grows" in our state parks and surrounding areas.
There is a serious problem in San Diego and its not the pot clubs and patients. Its the media creating all the negative hype because they dont have a story and Beth needs to keep her job by creating hype and traffic to their site.
Once I thought of San Diego as a city of nature, but now i think of it as a city of horror for medical marijuana patients. As long as you are legal and not doing anything wrong then all is good.
